Police Chase A Gang Of Thieves Who Slashed Victims With Sickles At Cakung Market

JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cakung Police is pursuing two robbers with sharp weapons who took the cellphone of the victim with the initials AS, near the Cakung Market train crossing, Cakung District, East Jakarta.

"We are still chasing (the perpetrators)," said Cakung Police Chief Kompol Satria when contacted, Monday, January 17.

In addition to taking the victim's cellphone, the perpetrator also slashed the victim's chest with a sharp weapon. The victim is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The Cakung Police Precinct conducted a crime scene (TKP) and gathered witnesses to hunt down the perpetrators.

"There are two witnesses. We have examined the witnesses," he said again.

Police officers have also checked CCTV footage around the location to assist in the investigation and pursuit of the perpetrators.

Previously, it was reported that a citizen with the initials AS became a victim of a robbery while taking his parents shopping near the Cakung Market train crossing, Cakung District, East Jakarta, Sunday, January 16. As a result of the incident, the victim suffered a stab wound to the chest.

The incident began when the victim was waiting across from Cakung station, next to the mosque. Meanwhile, the victim's parents went shopping by crossing the railroad tracks.

While the victim was waiting, suddenly two perpetrators came on a motorbike carrying a sickle. The victim was immediately stabbed in the left chest and right leg.

When the victim was helpless, the perpetrator immediately took the victim's cellphone. The victim tried to catch up and asked for help from other traders. Because the victim's injuries were quite severe, he fell limp and lay down.

Then the victim's parents came to the victim and asked for help from local residents. Incidentally, at the same time, members of the East Jakarta Metro Police arrived in a patrol car.

The victim was then evacuated to Pondok Kopi Islamic Hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile, the case of the robbery was handled by the Cakung Police.
