JAKARTA - Prabowo Subianto-Joko Widodo's support for the 2024 presidential election has re-emerged. The support came back from the Joint Secretariat (Sekber).

Political communication observer at Esa Unggul University, M. Jamiluddin Ritonga, said that the duet was not prohibited by the constitution. As a vice presidential candidate, Jokowi is assessed by the Secretary of the Republic of Indonesia as being able to maintain sustainable development in Indonesia.

"But that reason is just an attempt to justify the Prabowo-Jokowi duo. They really encourage this duo to maintain and maintain the economic coffers that have been enjoyed," said Jamiluddin in Jakarta, Sunday, January 16.

Behind that, continued Jamiluddin, of course there are oligarchs who are trying to enlarge the coffers of the economy. "The oligarchs want their business empire to grow even more if Jokowi continues to lead Indonesia with Prabowo," he said. Jamiluddin assessed that the Prabowo-Jokowi duo also seemed to deny the potential of other nations' children. In fact, he said, if you want to be objective, many of the nation's children are more capable than Prabowo and Jokowi.

"If political parties are serious about recruiting the nation's children, they will surely find many potential figures who are capable of both expertise and leadership. These will be able to advance Indonesia far beyond what the current regime does," he said.

"So, the effort to pair Prabowo-Jokowi is tantamount to undermining the potential of the nation's children to lead their beloved country," continued Jamiluddin. In addition, according to him, the effort to pair Prabowo-Jokowi is also likely to be rejected by the PDIP. The reason is, Jokowi as a PDIP cadre is considered to have devoted himself enough to the nation and state for two periods. Moreover, said Jamiluddin, PDIP although it has not officially declared, but has prepared Puan Maharani ahead of time. There is even a strong indication that Puan will be paired with Prabowo as a consequence of the entry of the General Chairperson of Gerindra to Jokowi's cabinet.

"Therefore, Megawati Soekarnoputri will have the opportunity to react strongly if the duet materializes. Megawati will prioritize the interests of her party, especially the continuity of the Soekarno breed," he explained. Therefore, added Jamiluddin, the Secretary and other communities who support Jokowi for three periods should not be trapped by the interests of certain groups.

"These initiators should not be trapped by temporary interests just to maintain and expand their group's capital," he said. Previously, the Secretary General of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) DPP Hasto Kristiyanto had responded to the support. According to him, the 2024 presidential election is still very dynamic. Therefore, said Hasto, such discourses do not need to be responded to.
