Pilkada 2020: PDIP-Golkar Coalition In 46 Regions, With PKS 13 Regions

JAKARTA - PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said his party has built a consolidation with a number of parties to compete in the 2020 Pilkada which will be held on 9 December.

Of a number of existing parties, PDIP has worked with the Golkar Party the most and the least with the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS). According to Hasto, PDIP and Golkar are working together in 46 regions.

"Given that the PDIP is committed to building a spirit of mutual cooperation, cooperation with political parties is also carried out. Of the total pairs of candidates and deputy regional head candidates, the highest cooperation is with the Golkar Party of 46 regions," said Hasto in an online press conference, Friday, August 28.

Furthermore, most collaborations were made with the National Awakening Party (PKB) in 37 regions. "PAN led by Pak Zulhas and my friend Pak Eddy are 34 regions," he said.

Then, the party made by Megawati Soekarnoputri also formed a coalition with the party led by Prabowo Subianto, Gerindra in 33 regions, Democrats in 32 regions, the United Development Party (PPP) in 19 regions and the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) in 13 regions.

Meanwhile, for the whole, the PDI-P nominated 131 internal cadres as candidates for mayor and regent. Meanwhile, for the deputy mayor and regent candidates there are 97 internal cadres who are nominated by PDIP.

Hasto also said that the PDIP nominated two of their cadres as governors and three as deputy governor candidates.

With many internal cadres advancing in political contestation, he then said that the cadre process in his party had gone well and was systemic.

Furthermore, Hasto explained that in the future his party will try to increase the involvement of women in politics. Because currently, only 25 percent or 61 female candidates for regional head have advanced from their party.

"Of course in the future parties will pay greater attention to the women's movement, including being actively involved in the world of politics," she stressed.

It is known, PDIP has announced candidates for regional heads in stages starting from the first wave to the fourth wave. A number of names were carried by the PDIP, such as President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka; President Jokowi's son-in-law, Bobby Nasution; son of Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Pramono Anung, and many more.
