32 Illegal CPMIs From Central Lombok Who Were Caught In A Raid In Bekasi Are Repatriated

PRAYA - The Manpower and Transmigration Service (Disnakertrans) of Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) said 32 prospective Indonesian migrant workers (CPMI) illegally from the area, who were caught in a raid in Bekasi, West Java, had been sent home.

"They (Illegal PMI candidates) have arrived at their homes this week," said the Head of the Central Lombok Manpower and Transmigration Service, then an employee in Praya, as reported by Antara, Friday, January 14.

Of the 32 illegal PMI candidates who failed to travel to a number of countries in the Middle East, there were 28 women and four men. Before being repatriated, they were first taken to the Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Agency (BP2MI) for NTB Province for data collection.

"Until now, sending PMIs to the Middle East is still closed as a result of COVID-19. From information they will work as household assistants," he said. issued quite a lot. "The point is not to go illegally," he said.

Previously, as many as 54 prospective illegal Indonesian migrant workers from NTB were repatriated after failing to leave for countries in the Middle East region.

These prospective migrant workers were repatriated to NTB after being previously secured by the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower's PMI Protection Task Force during a surprise inspection at a shelter for prospective migrant workers in Bekasi, West Java.
