The Destroyer And Kicker Of Offerings On Mount Semeru Have Been Arrested, Abu Janda: Please Don't Have Peace Seals!

JAKARTA - The joint police team managed to track down the whereabouts of HF, who caused a stir by deliberately kicking an offering at the Mount Semeru disaster site. HF has been arrested. This is the response of social media activists Abu Janda.

The Head of Public Relations of the Yogyakarta Police, Kombes Yuliyanto, explained that the process of arresting the perpetrators took place at 23.00 WIB, Thursday, January 13, on the road in the Banguntapan District area. The arrest process was led directly by the Director of the Ditreskrimum Polda DIY, Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi.

The Yogyakarta Police are the backup team in the arrest process. When ambushed, there was no resistance from the HF perpetrators.

The perpetrator was taken to the Banguntapan Police for initial questioning. He was seen sitting in the Integrated Police Service Center room at the Banguntapan Police Sector.

"The man was taken to the East Java Police in a safe condition," said Yuliyanto.

Social media activist Abu Janda gave great appreciation to the Lumajang Regency Government for reacting quickly to this act of intolerance. He also thanked the police for finally finding the culprit.

"Please don't have a peace stamp, sir," wrote Abu Janda on his Instagram account.

Previously, a video of a person wearing a black vest cursing the use of offerings in the Mount Semeru area. In the video, he throws offerings in front of him, some even being kicked by the man.

The police are indeed furious with the acts of intolerance carried out by FH at the Mount Semeru disaster site. The police will also hunt down the person who spread the video.

Perpetrators of intolerance can be charged with article 156 of the Criminal Code regarding hate speech and insults to a group, namely anyone who publicly expresses feelings of hostility, hatred and contempt for a group of Indonesian citizens with a penalty of 4 years in prison and a fine.

Meanwhile, related to the spread of viral videos that can be snared by Law no. 19 of 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE) which states that any person who intentionally and without rights disseminates information intended to create hatred and hostility towards individuals or groups of citizens based on ethnicity, religion, race and certain groups, the threat is imprisonment for a maximum of 6 years and a maximum fine of Rp. 1 billion.
