JAKARTA - PWI Jakarta has just held the 53rd Batch of Journalist Competency Test (UKW). Of the 29 participants who took part, 26 were declared competent. Chairman of PWI Jakarta Sayid Iskandarsyah emphasized to all journalists who participated in UKW to always improve their knowledge and always comply with the Journalistic Code of Ethics (KEJ).
For two days, PWI Jaya held UKW Batch – 53 activities, Wednesday and Thursday (12 and 13 January), at the PWI Jakarta Secretariat, Prasada Targeta Karya Building 9th Floor, Central Jakarta. PWI Jaya's inaugural UKW in 2022 was attended by 29 Young and Main cluster participants, from various media, both print and online. Of the 29 participants, 26 were declared competent, while the other three had the opportunity to repeat at least the next six months.
With the addition of 26 competent participants from UKW, the total number of competent journalists nationally became 14,585 people, out of a total of 586 UKW events.
"After participating in this UKW, the participants become competent journalists, and journalists who must obey the code of ethics in carrying out journalistic duties," said PWI Jaya Chairperson Sayid Iskandarsyah when closing the UKW, Thursday, January 13.
Sayid Iskandarsyah expects UKW participants to be diligent in reading, continue to broaden their horizons, especially understanding the Journalistic Code of Ethics (KEJ) and various regulations related to good reporting rules. "Never get bored to add insight, it can be by reading books, reading the news, attending webinars, watching any program that can add insight. During the course of carrying out the duties of a journalistic code of ethics, journalists must always be loyal to journalists without exception," he said.
Of the 29 participants in the 53rd batch of UKW PWI Jakarta, 26 are in the Young cluster, three are in the Main. The examiners in the Muda cluster, Sayid Iskandarsyah, Yusuf M. Said, AR Lubis, Cedin Rosyad Nurdin and M. Iqbal Irsyad. The three participants in the Main cluster were tested by Djunaedi Tjunti Agus with the help of two interns, Kesit Budi Handoyo and Tubagus Adhi.
