Around The Mandalika Circuit Greened And Planted With Flowers, Jokowi: Looks More Beautiful When MotoGP Guests Come

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo visited the location of the MotoGP circuit in Mandalika, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. This is to ensure the readiness of the MotoGP title in March 2022.

On the way, Jokowi admitted that he saw the spatial layout of the Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport to the circuit being greened so that it was planted with flowers. This arrangement aims to spoil the eyes of MotoGP guests.

"Regarding the arrangement of the landscape from the airport to Mandalika, it has begun to be beautified with flowers on certain hills and re-greened. So, when guests come from the airport to Mandalika, they look prettier, more beautiful", Jokowi said in a Youtube video broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat, Thursday, January 13.

The former governor of DKI Jakarta also monitored the organization's readiness to face MotoGP, such as asking what difficulties they were facing, accommodation, transportation readiness, hotels, and planes.

"We checked everything one by one. God willing, everything is ready", said Jokowi.

Previously, when he arrived at Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport, Jokowi reviewed several facilities including temperature checkpoints and electronic health alert cards or e-HAC, immigration document checkpoints, baggage collection, and customs checkpoints.

This airport will later be used as entry access to the Province of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) for spectators and participants of the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP.

"Earlier, I checked the arrival at the airport, then the process at the airport. I saw everything related to health protocols, related to checks for PCR, checking that they had been vaccinated twice, all in good order", said Jokowi.

During this review, Jokowi was accompanied by Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya, Governor of West Nusa Tenggara Zulkieflimansyah, and the MotoGP Field Commander.
