BOGOR - Head of the Bogor District Health Office Mike Kaltarina said that the COVID-19 patient with the Omicron variant from Dramaga, Bogor Regency, West Java, was now negative after undergoing a second PCR swab test.

"Earlier, the test results came out at 2 pm from Litbangkes, three people including Omicron yesterday and six close contacts had negative results from LIPI," said Mike in Cibinong, Bogor Regency, Antara, Wednesday, January 12.

Mike said the Bogor Regency COVID-19 Handling Task Force sent three samples to the Agency of Health Research and Development (Litbangkes), namely one person who had previously tested positive for Omicron, along with samples belonging to his parents.

“Meanwhile, the six close contacts, consisting of relatives and neighbors, were sent to LIPI. Thank God all the results were negative," she said.

Previously, she explained that the first Omicron variant of the COVID-19 patient in the Bogor Regency area had a travel history to Jakarta and had been tested positive since January 6, 2022.

She suspects that the 28-year-old man from Dramaga, Bogor Regency, was exposed to local transmission, because he rarely does activities with the Bogor-Jakarta trip.

"Maybe he's a local (transmission) yes. He went to Jakarta and then he came home. But this person doesn't work in Jakarta, he only goes to Jakarta occasionally. Coincidentally, he might get hit on the trip," Mike explained.
