BANDARLAMPUNG - The Lampung High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has raised the status of the case of alleged corruption in the grant funds of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Lampung worth Rp. 29 billion from the investigation to the investigative stage.

The head of the Lampung High Prosecutor's Office (Kajati) Heffinur said that although the KONI case had been raised, his party had not been able to explain the number of people involved in the case.

"We are still investigating, when it is finished and a suspect has been identified, we will report back," he said in Bandarlampung, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, January 12.

He continued that the budget that had been disbursed by the Lampung Provincial Government had several factors in which the grant funds were disbursed inappropriately.

The first factor, he continued, was that the Lampung KONI work program and budget were not prepared based on the proposed needs of the local KONI and sports.

Then it was found that there were irregularities in the work program budget in sports other than KONI Lampung related to the procurement of goods and services that were not in accordance with the legislation.

"The field of KONI Lampung and sports in submitting the need for its work program in 2020 is not guided by the submission of grant needs and budgets. So that the use of grant funds is suspected of having irregularities in the procurement of goods and services in sports and KONI Lampung," he said.

Kajati added that the Lampung Provincial Government itself budgeted and disbursed the funds in several stages. The first phase was disbursed in the amount of IDR 29 billion and the second phase of IDR 30 billion.

From the Rp29 billion budget, KONI Lampung has divided several activities, including Rp22 billion for the coaching budget, Rp3 billion for the 2020 PON participation budget, and Rp3 billion for the Lampung secretariat budget.

"We are monitoring the Rp29 billion budget, because the Rp30 billion has not been disbursed due to the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.
