Today's COVID In East Kalimantan, Adds 4 Positive Cases Spread In Samarinda, West Kutai And Kutai Kartanegara

KALTIM - Positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 in East Kalimantan Province experienced the addition of four new cases as of Tuesday, January 11. Meanwhile, the number of recovered cases increased by two.

Spokesman for the COVID-19 Task Force for East Kalimantan Province Andi Muhammad Ishak said additional positive confirmed cases occurred in Samarinda (2 cases) and West Kutai and Kutai Kartanegara (1 case each).

Meanwhile, additional recovered patients occurred in West Kutai and Samarinda with one case each.

"Currently, there are 20 confirmed positive COVID-19 patients who are still undergoing treatment in East Kalimantan," said Andi Muhammad Ishak in Samarinda, quoted from Antara.

Andi explained that four East Kalimantan regions, namely Mahakam Ulu Regency, North Panajam Paser, Berau and Bontang City still survive in the COVID-19 green zone. Meanwhile, six other East Kalimantan regions, namely East Kutai Regency, Kutai Kartanegara, West Kutai, Paser, Samarinda City and Balikpapan are still in the yellow zone.

"The most positive patients are in West Kutai with 6 people, followed by Samarinda 5 people, Balikpapan 4 people, Paser 3 people, East Kutai 1 person and Kutai Kartanegara 1 person," explained Andi.

According to Andi, the accumulated number of positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 in East Kalimantan is 158,358 cases, 152,885 have been declared cured, while 5,452 cases have died.

Andi reminded that the development of COVID-19 cases in East Kalimantan was still volatile and allowed the transmission of new cases.

Therefore, Andi reminded the importance of implementing health protocols in daily activities to prevent the transmission of the COVID-19 virus.
