JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported that the flood conditions in Aceh Jaya District and Southwest Aceh District, Aceh, were gradually receding.

"Previously, it was reported that it was isolated due to flooding with the water level (TMA) varying from 20 cm to 70 cm," said Abdul Muhari, Acting Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 11.

Abdul said the total flood victims were 299 families (Head of Families) or 1,058 people.

A number of villages that were hit by floods were spread over four sub-districts, including Indra Jaya District, Ceunamprong Village, then Krueng Sabee District, namely Keude Kreung Sabee, Dayah Baro, Panton Makmur, Blang and Keutapang villages.

According to the local Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), there were no fatalities as a result of the incident.

Meanwhile, the BPBD of Southwest Aceh Regency reported that two sub-districts were hit by floods in its area, namely Blangpidie District, precisely in Alue Mangota Village and Setia District, precisely in Drien Payeh Village, Ujung Tanoh and Tangan Cut.

There are 50 units of houses and agricultural land submerged with a TMA of 25 cm to 50 cm. BPBD also reported that one family had fled to a safer place.

The current condition of the flood has receded, residents assisted by BPBD officers cleaned up the mud material left over from the flood.
