JAKARTA - Deputy Mayor of Surabaya Armuji rebuked the sub-district and village heads who did not pay attention to the problems of their citizens when they visited RW 3, Gundih Village, Bubutan District, Surabaya City, East Java.

"Where are the sub-district heads and village heads? They should be present when residents encounter problems so that they are proud to be citizens of Surabaya," said Deputy Mayor Armuji when visiting Balai RW 3, Gundih, Tuesday, January 11, as reported by Antara.

The arrival of person number 2 in the city of Surabaya was to respond to complaints from residents about land measurement in RW 3 carried out by PT KAI Daop VIII which was considered disturbing to residents because the notification was delivered after the measurements were made.

Arriving at the RW 03 Assembly Hall, Gundih Village, Armuji checked the presence of the sub-district and village heads represented by the section head.

He reminded the sub-district and village heads to always accompany residents to solve various problems because it is in accordance with the message of the Mayor of Surabaya Eri Cahyadi for sub-districts and lurahs who are unable to serve residents to resign.

"As a deputy mayor, I am open to receiving input, complaints and even criticism from residents. If I could be here, why couldn't the lurah and sub-district head," said Armuji.

He added that later he would follow up on residents' complaints by calling related parties including PT KAI to clarify the measurement incident in the RW 03 Gundih area.

"I will immediately call all relevant parties, the Surabaya City Government will facilitate and protect its citizens," he said.

Mayor of Surabaya Eri Cahyadi previously asked officials in the Surabaya City Government who work not according to the output and outcome according to the performance contract to be ready to resign.

"When there are officials who cannot fulfill their performance contracts, they must be ready to resign and be ready to be dismissed without demanding anything," he said.
