Update On COVID-19 As Of August 27: New Case Records 2,719

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 29,663 specimens were examined, as a result, there were 2,719 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 162,884 people," he was quoted as saying from data from the Ministry of Health, Thursday, August 27.

Today, more cases recovered than new cases, namely an increase of 3,166, so that a total of 118,575 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 120 people and a total of 7,064 people.

The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 760 new cases and a total of 36,213 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Furthermore, East Java has 367 new cases with a total of 31,696 cases. Central Java with new cases and a total of 13,225 cases. East Kalimantan with 206 new cases and a total of 3,626 cases. Then, West Java has 154 new cases and a total of 10,002 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 1,538 cases recovered. Followed by East Java with an additional 341 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 215 recovered cases, and South Kalimantan with an additional 184 recovered cases.

Then, there are 3 provinces that reported having no new cases today. The provinces are North Kalimantan, Central Sulawesi, and Bangka Belitung.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 2,136,416. In detail, as many as 2,095,659 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 40,757 using molecular rapid test (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 13.2 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases was 76,201. Currently, 485 districts / cities out of 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
