JAKARTA - The chairman of the PKS DPP, Mardani Ali Sera, emphasized that his party is an opposition party that always oversees government policies.

Mardani said this in response to PKS's opinion that the government's work was bad because it lost in the general election. At the same time answering questions from the Director of Charta Politica Indonesia, Yunarto Wijaya.

Initially, Mardani defended the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, who was judged by PDIP to be underperforming. Mardani said it was natural because PDIP lost in the last DKI Regional Election.

According to Mardani, the most appropriate person to assess Anies' work is the people of DKI. This was stated by Mardani through his Twitter account on Sunday, January 9.

Mardani's tweet was then commented on by the Executive Director of Charta Politica Indonesia, Yunarto Wijaya. He asked Mardani whether this logic could be used at the national level or not. Yunarto even called PKS subjective because it lost in the 2019 election.

"Can this logic also be used at the national level? The assessment from PKS must be subjective because it lost during the election?" Yunarto replied via the account @yunartowijaya, Monday, January 10.

When confirmed by VOI regarding Yunarto's question, Mardani said that PKS was not in the position of the party that lost the election, but as an opposition political party that oversees every government policy.
