Good News, COVID-19 Vaccination In Indonesia Ranked 4th In The World Defeating Brazil

JAKARTA - Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said COVID-19 vaccination in Indonesia was ranked fourth in the world. Indonesia managed to beat Brazil in terms of vaccination achievements.

"Alhamdulillah, this week Indonesia has managed to climb to fourth in the world, surpassing Brazil in terms of the number of people vaccinated", Budi said in a press conference broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Monday, January 10.

Minister of Health Budi revealed that the total dose of the COVID-19 vaccine that had been injected into the community in Indonesia had reached 169 million. Meanwhile, Brazil has only managed to inject 166 million doses of vaccine in its citizens.

Even so, Indonesia's position is still below China, which has succeeded in injecting 1.2 billion doses of vaccine, India at 880 million doses, and the United States with 246 million doses of vaccine.

Budi said almost all provinces in Indonesia had reached 70 percent. "Last week, the province of Aceh entered. This is safe for the province of Aceh and West Kalimantan", said the former Deputy Minister of SOEs.

Meanwhile, provinces that have not achieved 70 percent of their vaccine achievements are West Sumatra, West Sulawesi, Maluku, West Papua, and Papua.

Regarding the availability of vaccines, the government ensures that the stock is safe to pursue giving to people who have not been vaccinated. Currently, there are 150 million doses of vaccine ready to be injected out of a total of 446 million doses. Meanwhile, the remaining 288 million doses, said the Minister of Health, have been injected.

"Especially for the booster vaccination, Mr. Preisden has also approved (the injection, ed) and there will be a press conference by him to update on this booster vaccine", concluded Budi.
