Health Office Recorded 14 Omicron Patients In West Java, Some Were Treated At Wisma Atlet

BANDUNG - The West Java Provincial Health Office stated that so far there are 14 cases of COVID-19 patients with the Omicron variant from West Java who are undergoing treatment at the Wisma Atlet Jakarta Hospital and Al Ihsan Baleendah Hospital, Bandung Regency.

"Until now, there are 14 cases of Omicron patients from West Java. Of those 14, 10 people are being treated at Wisma Atlet. And of these 10, eight of the 20 people announced earlier (by the Governor of West Java). So the rest are not residents of West Java. So two more people are previous cases and one new person," said Head of the West Java Provincial Health Office, Dr. R Nina Susana Dewi, quoted by Antara, Monday, January 10.

Meanwhile, four more people are currently undergoing treatment at the Al Ihsan Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Bandung Regency.

"So because one (who infected four people being treated at the Al Ihsan Hospital in Bandung) came home from outside, the quarantine was over and was negative. But when we got home with fever and anosmia, when we checked, it turned out to be exposed to Omicron. We continued tracing, four people were at home. positive. One person must be retested, while the new Omicron are four in Al Ihsan," he said.

Even though the Omicron variant has entered the West Java region, Nina appealed to the public not to panic because this variant is not as severe or virulent as the COVID-19 delta variant.

"The community must stay 3 M to stay safe from COVID-19," he said.

Meanwhile, the President Director of Al Ihsan Hospital, Baleendah, Bandung Regency, Dewi Basmala, said the patients suspected of contracting the Omicron variant are residents of Bandung Regency who were infected after returning from abroad and are currently being treated in the inpatient room with the yellow category.

Dewi said the inpatient room with the yellow category was entered with moderate, mild, and even asymptomatic conditions.
