Attorney General Asks All His Men To Monitor Land And Airport Mafia Issues: I Wait For The Report

JAKARTA - Attorney General Burhanuddin asked all Deputy Attorney Generals to pay close attention to the latest actual issues, namely the rampant land mafia, port and airport mafia, and the scarcity of fertilizer for farmers.

"To the Junior Attorney Generals, the latest actual issues that should be observed are the rampant land mafia, port and airport mafia, and the scarcity of fertilizer for farmers," said Burhanuddin in his statement in Jakarta, Monday 10 January.

He made this statement when giving directions at the swearing-in ceremony and inaugurating the Deputy Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia, the Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence, the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes, and the Deputy Attorney General for Supervision at the 10th Floor Auditorium of the Kartika Adhyaksa Tower Building, the Attorney General's Office.

The presence of these mafias, said Burhanuddin continued, has disturbed the public and disrupted the country's economy, and even has the potential for criminal acts of corruption that can cause economic losses.

"Therefore, I ask the Deputy Attorney General to close ranks and accelerate the eradication of these mafias. Take a firm, uncompromising stance and brush off the mafias," said the Attorney General.

Burhanuddin also said that he had issued the Attorney General's Circular Number 16 of 2021 concerning the Eradication of the Land Mafia and the Attorney General's Circular Letter Number 17 of 2021 concerning the Eradication of the Port and Airport Mafia.

"Immediately carry out my orders, and I am waiting for a good report on your performance," he said.

Furthermore, Burhanuddin asked the Deputy Attorney General for Supervision to improve and strengthen effective supervision, in order to minimize irregularities, abuse of authority, and all other forms of disgraceful acts.

In addition, he continued, in 2022 the supervisory work system must change to digital surveillance. Burhanuddin hopes that there will be no more conventional monthly reports.

"Also supervise the implementation of the CMS program and compliance with the One Data Attorney system," he said.
