The chairman of the Golkar Party faction of the Surabaya DPRD conveyed that what Mayor Eri had done could inspire officials in the Surabaya City Government, starting from the heads of regional apparatus organizations (OPD), sub-district heads, village heads to the lowest officials.

"I hope that with this apology from the number one person in Surabaya, it can spark a public participation movement. To work together how we deal with floods. With mutual cooperation we can certainly do it," he said.
