Bobby Nasution Said that Medan is Far Behind, Akhyar's Loyalist: Look Around Medan

JAKARTA - The candidate for Medan Mayor, Bobby Nasution, said that Medan is far behind other regions. Akhyar Nasution's loyalist, who is going to run in the Medan Regional Election, asked Bobby to come down and look at the facts around Medan.

"Take a look around Medan first. See the changes," said a loyalist and the Head of Akhyar Nasution Comrade, Suwandi Purba, Wednesday, August 26.

Suwandi considered that the prospective mayor could mention the shortcomings of Medan City. But Bobby Nasution was asked to present real data.

"So if they said about left behind, we didn't want to claim that it didn't exist. But Medan is moving towards change," continued Suwandi.

Since serving as the Acting Medan Mayor, Akhyar Nasution, has succeeded in executing several reform programs. One of them is to prepare an online application system for Medan residents in processing ID cards or other population administration.

Suwandi said the office of the Medan City Population and Civil Registry Service (Dukcapil) in the era before 2020 was chaotic. Many people crowded into long lines just to take care of KTPs.

In March 2019, Pemko Medan initiated an online KTP management system. This program was then executed by Akhyar Nasution while serving as the Acting Mayor of Medan in November 2019. Akhyar proposed a budget change to include the provision of an online application system.

"Amendments to the APBD were approved and executed in March 2020. So in March 2020, it can be used comfortably," said Suwandi.

From the data owned by Suwandi, there are more than 3 thousand people who take care of population administration. 80 percent of them use online applications.

"If you look at the Dukcapil office, there are no queues. It used to be like a market. This is the era of the success of Acting Akhyar after taking direct control of the move," said Suwandi.

The residents in Medan can also immediately experience the management of city parks. In the past, the city parks in Medan were lack of proper care. Now, the conditions are different. Several city parks that have been better. Such as Teladan Park, Merdeka Field Park, Gajah Mada Park, and Ahmad Yani Park.

“Now, the Medan city park is a fitness center. In the afternoon, it becomes a city tourist destination, so people take advantage of it. There are benches and a kids' play area," said Suwandi.
