Kazakh Emergency Status, Indonesian Embassy Urges Indonesian Citizens To Stay Away From Crowds

JAKARTA - The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Nur-Sultan appealed to all Indonesian citizens (WNI) in Kazakhstan to always be alert and careful and stay away from crowds, following the emergency status announced by the country's president.

"In connection with the development of the situation in Kazakhstan and the announcement of the state of emergency by the President of Kazakhstan. All Indonesian citizens are asked not to travel outside their homes except for essential matters", said the Indonesian Embassy in Nur-Sultan in a written statement received by Ambassador Fadjroel Rachman, Thursday, January 6.

All Indonesian citizens are asked to obey the rules issued by the local government, maintain order and not participate in mass actions carried out in the local area.

"WNIs are also advised not to make public comments on the development of the Kazakh domestic situation", said the Indonesian Embassy.

Indonesian citizens are also asked to communicate with other Indonesian citizens in their respective areas.

"Communicating with the Indonesian Embassy through the Indonesian citizen group and other possible communication channels to update each other's conditions and report important things to know together", reads the statement from the Indonesian Embassy in Nur-Sultan.
