If All Training Is Completed, There Will Be 900 West Java Residents Who Have Professional Driver Skills

JAKARTA - The West Jakarta City Government (Pemkot) plans to train 900 residents to become professional car drivers in a job training program in 2022.

"So we are holding job training, namely driving training for SIM A for a total of 900 people this year," said Acting Head of the Training, Placement, Productivity and Transmigration Section of the West Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Sub-dept., Nur Kholis when met at the West Jakarta Mayor's office, Thursday 6 January.

Nur Kholis said that the number had jumped dramatically when compared to the number of trainees last year which only reached 90 people.

The number of driver training participants has increased because of the large public interest in the 2021 training program.

Not only training to get a SIM A, the Manpower Sub-Department has also increased the training quota to become a security (security) worker.

In 2021, his party only opens a training quota for security officers as many as 25. Meanwhile, this year the training quota has increased to 70.

Later, the prospective participants who are training to become drivers and security will be taken from eight sub-districts that have registered. The training will be carried out in several meetings until finally the participants get an official certificate.

The Manpower Sub-Department will also channel the participants to several companies that need their services.

"We also help distribute it to several companies so that labor absorption can be maximized," said Nur Kholis.

Nur Kholis estimates that the program will run in the next few months. For now, his party is still looking for collaborators who are willing to work together in this job training activity.
