National Police Chief Launches Precision Quarantine Monitoring Application, Supervises PPLN In Indonesia

JAKARTA - The National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo continues to carry out various ways to monitor and enforce strict health protocols (prokes) against Foreign Travel Actors (PPLN) entering Indonesian territory. One of them is done by using the Precision Quarantine Monitoring application.

"This application is part of our follow-up to carrying out the direction of Mr. President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to carry out stricter supervision, especially for foreign travelers who have just returned and must carry out the quarantine process as regulated," said Sigit in a written statement, Thursday, 6 January.

The use of the application aims to protect the public from the transmission of the spread of COVID-19, the Omicron variant.

Moreover, the official government regulation requires foreign travelers to carry out quarantine for 7 to 10 days. So, the application can monitor the PPLN.

This application has several features to carry out surveillance and ensure PPLNs undergo a mandatory quarantine period. The main functions of which are location monitoring to monitor the user's location in real time.

Then, a monitoring dashboard that monitors the occupancy of quarantine locations, statistics on perpetrators who are currently in quarantine, and when they enter the end of quarantine as well as the results of the RT-PCR test.

"This dashboard is installed in hotels and quarantine areas as well as the Monitoring Center at the National Police Headquarters. So that we can monitor other than those who are quarantined, including officers who carry out surveillance, we can follow them in real time," said Sigit.

The National Police Chief said that the use of the application would be focused on the entrance or entry point in the Indonesian territory. For example, Soetta Airport, Juanda Airport, Sam Ratulangi Airport, Batam Port, Tanjung Pinang Port, Nunukan Port, Aruk Cross-Border Post (PLBN), Entikong PLBN and Motaain PLBN.

The reason is that the entrance to the area must be strictly guarded for PPLNs. Considering that currently, said Sigit, the spread of the Omicron COVID-19 variant in Indonesia, mostly comes from imported cases.

"We try to provide assistance to our members who carry out surveillance, especially at locations that are the entrances. Our people who come from abroad can really supervise us strictly and with discipline," said Sigit.

"So we can anticipate that our main gates at airports, ports, PLBN, we can guard. Because this is the main gate, if we are weak here, the risk of entering the Delta and Omicron variants of course really can happen if we are not able to monitor properly. good," he continued.

With the launch of the application, Sigit hopes that the current good handling and control of COVID-19 can be maintained in the future. Therefore, all parties are asked not to be careless or negligent regarding the enforcement of health procedures and mandatory quarantine rules for PPLNs.

"Alhamdulillah, in our region in Indonesia so far we have been able to maintain this and this can certainly be done thanks to the hard work and cooperation of all existing stakeholders to keep the rate of COVID-19 under control.
