President Jokowi Appoints Agung Sunarta As Deputy Attorney General

JAKARTA - Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence at the Attorney General's Office, Agung Sunarta, was appointed by President Joko Widodo as Deputy Attorney General to replace Setia Untung Arimuladi who entered retirement on January 1, 2022.

Appointment of Sunarta as Deputy Attorney General based on Presidential Decree No. 180/TPA/2021 dated December 31, 2021.

"The decision letter is regarding the Dismissal and Appointment of Middle High Leadership Positions within the Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia," said the Head of the Attorney General's Legal Information Center, Leonard Simanjuntak, in a written statement received in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Thursday, January 6.

He said that based on the decree, he decided and respectfully dismissed Arimuladi's position as Deputy Attorney General starting January 1, 2022.

Then appointed Sunarta as Deputy Attorney General. Meanwhile, the position of the junior attorney general for intelligence will be filled by Amir Yanto, who previously served as Deputy Attorney General for Supervision.

The position in the field of supervision was filled by Ali Mukartono, who previously served as Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes. Meanwhile, the Head of the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office, Febrie Adriansyah, was appointed to replace Mukartono.

The appointment of Adriansyah is based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 181/TPA/2021 dated December 31, 2021, concerning the Appointment of Middle High Executive Officers within the Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia.

Previously, he was known to be the Director of Special Crime Investigation at the Attorney General's Office, then he was inaugurated as the Head of the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor's Office on July 29, 2021.

Simanjuntak said that following up on the decree the Attorney General, ST Burhanuddin, would inaugurate the four top officials of the Attorney General's Office on Monday, January 10, 2022.
