After Waiting For A Long Time, Finally Masiraan Community In Hulu Sungai Tengah South Kalimantan Started Enjoying Clean Water

HULU SUNGAI TENGAH - People in Masiraan Village, Pandawan District, Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency, South Kalimantan, are starting to be able to enjoy clean water, after waiting for a long time.

The clean water facility which was built through the 2021 Special Allocation Fund Program (DAK) and its management was handed over to KKM Air Egypt Hidayah was inaugurated by Regent H Aulia Oktafiandi on Wednesday, January 5.

The Regent of Hulu Sungai Tengah, H Aulia Oktafiandi, said that his party really prioritizes the development of the clean water supply for rural areas that have not yet reached the PDAM.

"We hope that the residents will manage this SPAM properly, because the tariff is also much cheaper than PDAM," said Aulia as quoted by Antara.

The Regent said that water is an important need of the community so that the government is here to provide services and provide clean water so that everyone can enjoy it.

"Use it as best as possible and manage it together so that it is useful in a sustainable manner and residents who have not joined can participate in installing this SPAM channel," he added.

The Coordinator of Air Mesir Hidayah Self-Help Group (KKM), Suhaili, explained that the Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) can serve 68 heads of families (KK) of the Masiraaan Village community.

According to Suhaili, the flood-sustained village area has been greatly helped by the construction of the SPAM.

"Because the PDAM has not yet entered, previously residents only used river water for their daily activities whose water quality was clearly not healthy," he said.

"So, on behalf of the people of Masiraan Village, we thank you for having developed this SPAM, it really helps us in the midst of difficulty in getting clean water," he explained.

Of the total population of 676 people, there are still many people who have not been served by the provision of clean water. Even though in 2018 and 2020 there is indeed a Pamsimas program.

"We hope that there will be more assistance from the government through development programs, especially the provision of clean water so that all Masiraan residents can get it," he hoped.
