Journalist Was Robbed In Ciracas, East Jakarta, Motorbike And Work Equipment Were Stolen

JAKARTA - Budi Sam Lau Malau (44) print media journalists were targeted by street crimes when crossing the Ciracas area, East Jakarta. The incident occurred when the victim was about to go to her parents' house in Cijantung, Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta.

According to the victim's statement, the incident occurred when he was going to visit his parents.

"Coincidentally, I was just from the Metro Jaya Police journalists' office at around 02.00 a.m. local time. I want to visit my parents," said the victim, Wednesday, January 5.

On the way, the victim stopped at Jalan Supriyadi, near the JNT office, Ciracas because he was sleepy.

"Stopped for a while because I was sleepy, suddenly someone approached, then I was unconscious," he said.

Based on Malau's information, the perpetrator tore his pants and took the motorcycle's ignition key and took the motorcycle away.

As a result, Malau lost a Yamaha FreeGo motorbike, a Samsung A51 cellphone, an Acer laptop, and a gray wallet.

"In the wallet there is IDR 500.000 in cash, I want to give the money to my parents for treatment. The total loss is approximately IDR 33 million. The laptop is in the trunk of the motorbike," he said.

Malau only woke up at around 07.00 a.m., when an online motorcycle taxi driver woke him up. The victim has reported the case to the Ciracas Police Headquarters. The victim hopes that the perpetrators will be caught by the police soon.
