JAKARTA - Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Lt. Gen. Suharyanto carried out a surprise inspection (sidak) of three quarantine hotels to monitor the readiness to accommodate foreign travelers in DKI Jakarta.

"We hope that this hotel facility will be ready as a quarantine place for foreign travelers," said Suharyanto in a written statement received in Jakarta, Wednesday, January 5, quoted from Antara.

The inspection was carried out on Tuesday (4/1), at 20.00 WIB, at two locations in Central Jakarta, namely the Arya Duta and Grand Mercure Hotel, and South Jakarta at the Holiday Inn Matraman.

The inspection targets the readiness to register for the acceptance of foreign travellers to review the supporting facilities at the quarantine area.

The Head of BNPB who is also the Chair of the National COVID-19 Handling Task Force also expressed his gratitude to the officers working at these hotels.

Previously, towards the end of 2021, Suharyanto had reviewed the readiness of quarantine facilities in DKI Jakarta to anticipate the need for additional quarantine places for Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) or foreign travelers.

The quarantine facilities are the Nagrak Flats in North Jakarta, the Daan Mogot Flats in West Jakarta and the Wisma of the DKI Jakarta Education Quality Institute in South Jakarta.

BNPB data as of today, January 4, 2021, at 18.00 WIB, the total number of overseas travelers (PPLN) at the Kemayoran Hospital, Wisma Pademangan, Pasar Rumput Flats and Nagrak Flats totaled 14,217 people. The total percentage of occupied beds in these four facilities is 74.92 percent.
