JAKARTA - The theft of luxury helmets occurred at the vape shop Jalan Pahlawan Revolution, Number 6, Klender, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta. The theft was caught on CCTV cameras at the location.

In the video, a thief can be seen stealing a helmet from a motorbike parked around the vape shop area.

From Ipul's confession, one of the vape shop employees said that the helmet theft occurred at around 22.15 WIB.

Ipul said, the male perpetrator pretended to want to charge his cellphone.

Then the perpetrator went to the customer outside the vape shop to borrow a charging cable.

However, because the plug in the charging cable did not match the charging hole of the perpetrator's cellphone, he failed to do so.

From there, after the customer entered the store, the perpetrator wearing a hooded sweater immediately monitored the situation in the parking lot of the vape shop area.

Seen in CCTV footage, a number of motorcycles parked there.

"The perpetrator checked the condition, after that he turned his motorbike around (towards the highway), then he immediately took a helmet from a motorbike owned by a customer," Ipul told reporters, Wednesday, January 5.

Ipul continued, based on the victim's statement, the helmet was relatively recently purchased and the price could reach Rp. 1 million.

"The helmet is a Zeus helmet and is still new, said the customer. If the price ranges up to a million," said Ipul.

According to Ipul, the process for the perpetrators to carry out the action took approximately one hour. Starting from he pretended to want to charge his cellphone until he finally stole a helmet and fled towards the Klender Flyover.

"What I noticed from CCTV was that the process took one hour. From 10.15 to 11.15 WIB," he said.

The face of the perpetrator, which was clearly recorded on the CCTV camera, is even now plastered on the wall of the vape shop. This was done as a way for visitors to identify the perpetrators of the helmet thieves.

"Yes, his face is displayed on the wall to deter the perpetrators, so his movements do not spread," he said.

According to Ipul, the victim has reported the incident to social media accounts. Not to the police yet.

"The victim has made a report but only made it to a few accounts, not to the police," he said.
