JAKARTA - A specialist vacant house thief raided the house of an online media journalist in the Duren Sawit area, East Jakarta.

The perpetrators managed to steal cash, jewelry, electronic goods and a motorbike when the victim died and went to his house.

"I went to Bogor, when I came home, I found out that the gate was not closed, the lock was missing," said the victim, Ghulam Muhammad Nayazri to reporters, Tuesday, January 4.

"The perpetrator stole cash worth Rp. 10 million, 100 US dollars, 25 grams of gold jewelry, 30 grams of precious metal, 4 cell phones and 4 watches from the room," he said.

According to Ghulam, when the incident occurred he was leaving the house. The incident only became known when he returned home and found that the fence padlock was missing and the main door was open.

"When I entered the house, the main door was opened, I checked the motorbike, there was not one that had a Vario," he said.

In this theft, it is strongly suspected that there was more than one perpetrator. The East Jakarta Metro Police Inafis team who conducted the case investigation found fingerprints in a drawer.

"It has been reported to the Duren Sawit Police. The downstairs door has been broken down. The chair has been moved and the room has been ransacked," he said.

The perpetrator only broke into one of the rooms in the victim's house which was on the ground floor.

"One room was broken into, if the fingerprints of more than one person (perpetrators). The perpetrators are specialists in empty houses," he said.
