Unidentified Body Found Floating In Pioneer Of Independence River, Pulo Gadung

JAKARTA - An unidentified body was found floating in the Kali Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, Kayu Putih Village, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta.

The discovery was first recognized by local residents. Then it was reported to the Pulogadung Police and forwarded to the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept. for immediate evacuation.

"Residents saw the corpse floating in the river, then reported it to the police and then the police contacted the fire department for evacuation," said East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Head Gatot Sulaeman to reporters, Saturday, December 1.

During identification, officers did not find any identification cards from the victim's body and clothes.

"When officers arrived at the scene, the victim's body was still floating in the river. The cause of death is not yet known. Police are investigating," he said.

Meanwhile, from the estimates of the officers who evacuated the victim's body, the victim is known to be around 37 years old with a height of about 170 cm.

"The evacuation was carried out by five firefighters at around 16.25 WIB. The victim's body was taken to the hospital for a post-mortem," he said.
