The new Head of Public Relations of the West Java Police, Kombes Ibrahim Tompo (ANTARA)

BANDUNG - The Head of Public Relations of the West Java Police is officially appointed by Kombes Ibrahim Tompo. This position was previously held by Kombes Erdi A Chaniago who is currently being shifted to the Public Relations Division of the Divhumas Polri.

Ibrahim made his first public appearance on Saturday, January 1 and delivered an update on the Bahar Smith case. He ensured that his party would be transparent in handling the case.

"We carry it out professionally, in accordance with the rules. For this reason, whenever there is a progress in the investigation, we will update it as transparency to the public," said Ibrahim at the West Java Regional Police, Bandung City, Antara, Saturday, January 1.

Ibrahim previously served as an Intermediate Policy Analyst for Public Information (Penmas) of the Public Relations Division (Divhumas) of the Police.

In addition, Ibrahim has also served as the Head of Public Relations of the North Sulawesi Police and the South Sulawesi Police.

The change of position was stated in the Telegram Letter (ST) of the National Police Chief issued on December 17, 2021. Ibrahim Tompo's name was listed in letter number: ST/2569/XII/KEP./2021 to replace Erdi.

Apart from Ibrahim, a number of other key officials in the West Java Regional Police also changed according to the telegram. However, the official inauguration has only been made for Ibrahim to serve as the Head of Public Relations.

The West Java Regional Police officials who will change start from the Deputy Chief of the Regional Police (Wakapolda), Director of the Drug Investigation, Director of Traffic, Director of Air and Water Police, and the Bandung Police Chief.
