Exceeding Target, COVID Vaccine For Pregnant Women In Central Bangka Reaches 103.95 Percent

BANGKA - The Health Office of Central Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Province stated that 868 pregnant women in the area had been vaccinated against COVID-19 or 103.95 percent of the total 835 targets.

The head of the Central Bangka Health Office, Dr. Anas Maarif, said the percentage of vaccines among pregnant women was above 100 percent. "However, pregnant women who have been injected with the second dose of vaccine have only reached 539 people or 64.55 percent," he said in Koba, Antara, Saturday, January 1.

The Central Bangka Regency Government continues to intensify the vaccination program in 2022 in collaboration with a number of community elements.

"We have established massive vaccine outlets to all villages, we also encourage community organizations to carry out vaccination activities," he said.

He also said that until now the vaccination program in Central Bangka has reached 75.37 percent of the total 153,277 targeted residents.

"We have reached the national average and continue to intensify it towards the end of the year," he said.

The local government is accelerating the vaccination program to establish communal immunity before Christmas and the 2022 New Year.
