In 2021, Drug Cases In Banten Increase By 27.4 Percent

SERANG – The Banten Police managed to confiscate 24,566 kilograms of methamphetamine in 2021. This figure is a sharp increase from the number of confiscations in 2020, which was 19,278 kilograms.

"Following up on the Banten Police Chief's commander wish, personnel from the Narcotics Directorate and the Regional Police managed to confiscate 24.5 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and save hundreds of thousands of people from the potential use of this illicit item, especially among teenagers," said the Director of Drugs and Drugs at the Banten Police, Kombes Pol Martri Sony, in a final release. 2021 at the Banten Police, Friday 31 December.

According to the results of the analysis and evaluation, the number of confiscations of methamphetamine in Banten in 2021 increased by 5.385 kilograms or 27.4% compared to confiscations in 2020. Based on the evaluation results, seizures of ecstasy drugs will also increase in 2021.

"Of the 365 ecstasy pills confiscated in 2020, the Banten Police Narcotics Directorate managed to confiscate 1,940 ecstasy pills in 2021, an increase of 1,575 pills or 431.5%," said Soni.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the Banten Police, AKBP Shinto Silitonga, said that during 2021, the Banten Police and the District Police had uncovered 681 drug cases and arrested 912 suspects. Of that number, said Shinto, 40 suspects were assessed for rehabilitation.

"Of the 681 cases disclosed, the Banten Police managed to resolve 721 drug cases with a crime clearance of 105.8% and this figure represents the achievement of a very good performance from the Narcotics Ditres and Polres ranks. I'm optimistic that next year will be better because the Banten Police Chief has firmly said to be brave to brush up against dealers and drug dealers who try to play in the Banten Police's jurisdiction," concluded Shinto.
