East Java Prosecutor's Office Saves Rp1.55 Trillion Of State Money Throughout 2021

SURABAYA - The rescue of state money by the East Java High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) throughout 2021 reached Rp1.55 trillion, up from 2020 which was Rp697.18 billion.

The source of the rescue comes from cases of Special Crimes (Pidsus), General Crimes (Pidum), Intelligence and Civil and State Administration (Datun).

"The many reports are motivated by the success of the East Java Prosecutor's Office in returning state assets belonging to the Surabaya City Government. In returning these assets, we are supported by the East Java National Land Agency (BPN)," said Head of the East Java Prosecutor's Office, M. Dhofir, at the East Java Attorney General's Office in Surabaya. , Friday, December 31.

Dhofir said that there were three areas of state assets that were rescued with a total area of 2,032 square meters. First, the assets on Jalan Kalisari No. 28 with an area of 1,190 square meters, worth around Rp. 4 billion. Second, assets on Jalan Kalisari I Number 12 with a land area of 578 square meters worth Rp1.9 billion.

Third, assets on Jalan Sariboto I Number 5 with an area of 264 square meters, worth Rp.891 million. The East Java Prosecutor's Office also succeeded in returning land assets which were located in the same area but with different certificates. Among them are Jalan Kalisari Number 5-7 covering an area of 566 square meters, worth Rp. 1.9 billion.

Dhofir said his party would continue to strive to return lost state assets, because they were illegally controlled by other parties. In addition, these assets have not been supported by evidence of ownership.

"One of them is in the form of land, so that it can result in the loss of these assets which of course is oriented to the birth of state or regional losses," he said.

Dhofir emphasized that in cases of illegal asset control by private parties, his party still prioritizes returning them to the state. If the illegally controlling party persists in not returning it, the East Java Prosecutor's Office will not hesitate to take the case to court.

"In addition to the assets of the Surabaya City Government, we have also managed to save the assets of the East Java Provincial Government. One of them is the assets of PT PWU (Panca Wira Usaha/BUMD East Java Provincial Government)," he said.
