Searching Three Places, KPK Finds Documents And Electronic Devices Related To Corruption In Regional PEN Funds

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) searched a number of places to look for evidence related to the alleged bribery in applying for a loan for the 2021 Regional National Economic Recovery (PEN) fund. The searches were carried out in Jakarta, Kendari, and Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi.

"Some time ago, the investigative team carried out forced searches in several places," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Ali Fikri told reporters, Friday, December 31.

Ali said the three places that were searched were the homes of those suspected of being linked to this allegation. From the search, investigators later found evidence that was suspected to be related.

"The evidence found and secured includes various documents and electronic devices that have strong links to the case," he said.

Furthermore, the evidence will be reviewed and analyzed and then confiscated. "Later (evidence, ed) will be confirmed to the parties called as witnesses," explained Ali.

Previously, the KPK admitted that it was investigating allegations of giving and receiving bribes related to the application for a 2021 Regional National Economic Recovery (PEN) loan in East Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi in 2021. grants from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB). At that time, the inactive East Kolaka Regent Andi Merya and the East Kolaka District Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Head Anzarullah were named suspects.

However, the Corruption Eradication Commission does not want to detail who the parties are suspected to be involved in. Including the possible involvement of Andi Merya in this case.

The KPK emphasized that a complete explanation regarding the construction of the case to who the suspects were and what articles were used would be explained after the forced arrest and detention were carried out.
