JAKARTA – Passport applicants now have the convenience of applying for a passport. Because starting today, Thursday, December 30, the Directorate General of Immigration will introduce the M-Passport application. Through this application, passport applicants can apply only by uploading a scanned file to the application.
That way, passport applicants don't have to wait long for officers to upload and enter application data.
"In the M-Passport application there are features that accommodate the stages of applying for a passport which are usually done face-to-face. These features include Early PNBP Payments, Arrival Schedule Rescheduling, Passport Application Status Checks, Dukcapil NIK Validation and RI Travel Document Integration," said Head of Public Relations and General Affairs of the Directorate General of Immigration, Arya Pradhana Anggakara based on a release received, Thursday 30 December.
He also explained that applicants can download the M-Passport application on the Playstore and install it on their device. Next, the applicant uploads the required documents and selects the immigration office and the desired arrival schedule.
The next stage is the applicant must make payments on available channels, both online such as marketplaces (Tokopedia and Bukalapak) and offline such as Banks, Post Offices and Indomaret. The payment deadline is two hours after the document is uploaded.
"For now we are still soft launching, the immigration offices that will open the passport queue quota for the first time in the M-Passport application are the South Jakarta Immigration Office, Central Jakarta Immigration Office and Tangerang Immigration Office," said Angga.
Meanwhile, the new M-Passport application can be accessed by Android smartphone users. While the iOS version is still in the approval stage by the Appstore.
"For the last stage, namely the submission of passports, the applicant can request a ready-made passport to be sent to his home through the services of PT. Pos Indonesia”, closed Angga.
