Police: The Hashtag Jogja Is Not Safe From The Klitih That Goes Viral On Social Media Is Not True

saying the hashtag Jogja is not safe from street crime or 'klitih' which has gone viral on social media in recent days is not true.

"Jogja is still safe, our members are always present in the field to provide a sense of security. So what is on social media that now Jogja is not safe is not true," said the Police Chief after a press conference on the disclosure of false reports related to street crimes in Bantul, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 29.

AKBP Ihsan said that Jogja (Yogyakarta), including Bantul Regency which was declared unsafe, was an untrue condition because it was proven that in recent days there were no tourist attractions in Bantul and Yogyakarta that were troubling to tourists.

"The evidence is that Parangtritis Beach, Bantul, has been very crowded in recent days, Malioboro is also very crowded, it indicates that Jogja is still safe, remains comfortable. Especially in Bantul, we guarantee that cases like this, God willing, we have anticipated," he said.

AKBP Ihsan said that the police had carried out anticipatory measures against street crimes in Bantul by prioritizing pre-emptive, preventive and repressive measures.

"We have a 'blue light patrol' that patrols every night, I even lead it myself, we also have teams to schools to raid vehicles for students as well as raid luggage and bags together with teachers," he said.

The police chief said his institution had formed a crime hunter team, in order to face the New Year of 2022, to ensure that Bantul remained safe and conducive.

"We also have a Kasatreskrim team. In one month we have revealed 25 street criminals that we have previously released, so there is no need to be afraid, we guarantee that Bantul is safe and conducive," he said.
