PKB Agrees With PKS Proposal To Announce Coalition And Presidential Candidate Early On

JAKARTA - Partai Kebangkitan Bangsa (PKB) agreed with the Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS) proposal to form a coalition and announce presidential candidates early on.

"PKB agrees with that. Even though we view it as not easy", said PKB Deputy General Chair Jazilul Fawaid at the House of Representatives building, Wednesday, December 29.

According to him, if only building a coalition then this can be done early on. However, what is difficult is the matter of presidential candidates. Where is usually announced impromptu before registration at the General Elections Commission (KPU)?

"The coalition may be faster. But the figures are always sudden", said Jazilul.

In addition, the Deputy Chairperson of the People's Consultative Assembly assessed that announcing the coalition early on would actually build a positive image for the public towards the work of political parties when the schedule for voting for the 2024 Simultaneous Elections has not been decided.

"Although the election schedule is uncertain. It has not been decided. But the party is at least ready and working according to its duties", concluded Jazilul.

Previously, the Chair of the Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS), Mardani Ali Sera, suggested that political parties should announce the coalition axis and the figures to be carried for the upcoming 2024 presidential election as early as possible.

This was conveyed by Mardani during a discussion on the release of the latest survey by Saiful Mujani Research & Consulting (SMRC) with the title 'Prospects of Political Parties and Presidential Candidates: Trends in Political Behavior of National Voters', Tuesday, December 28.

Initially, Mardani said that in the midst of a pandemic, until a recession like this, several parties considered that the 2024 election had a high level of uncertainty. Therefore, he invites political parties to announce as early as possible the axis of the coalition to the figure to be carried.

"That's why I personally, if the PKS always shout, let's immediately announce the presidential candidate, if possible don't announce it immediately, immediately create an early coalition, a coalition from now on", said Mardani.
