Attorney General's Building On Fire, Traffic Closed

JAKARTA - The flames were still burning at the Attorney General's Office building. To facilitate the blackout process, the police implemented diversion of traffic flow.

"We are basically engineering (traffic) so that there are no obstacles to entering the scene of the crime," said Kapolsek Kebayoran Baru AKBP Jimmy Cristian Samma, Saturday, August 22.

The public is asked to avoid roads around the AGO, such as Jalan Sisingamangaraja and Jalan Kyai Maja, and Jalan Bulungan.

A fire at the Attorney General's office was reported to have occurred since 19.10 WIB. Police do not yet know the cause of the fire that engulfed the main building on the right wing of the AGO.

"We do not know the cause, this is still a process. We cannot because we are still working with firefighters to control the fire," said Jimmy.

The flames are still heavy. The hotspot is thought to have originated on the 6th floor of the main attorney general's office building.

It is known that in the main building, floors 1 and 2 are the leadership rooms of the Attorney General's Office, floors 3 and 4 are the Intelligence room and the General Bureau and the Attorney General's Office, then floors 5 and 6 are guidance rooms.

The South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency (Gulkarmat) has deployed at least 24 fire engines to the fire area of the Attorney General's Office building.
