JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Syafrin Liputo said his party has deployed 2,500 personnel to be deployed in five areas of the capital city to monitor mobilization and prevent crowds on New Year's Eve 2022.

Syafrin said the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government together with the TNI-Polri implemented a "Crowd Free Night" or closure of a number of roads in the Capital City on New Year's Eve 2022.
"For the new year, as said by the Governor at the apple at Polda Metro Jaya, a Crowd Free Night program will be implemented, for example the Sudirman area to the City will be closed and there will be no activity. Apart from that, there are several other points that will be closed," he said.
Syafrin invites the public to celebrate New Year's Eve at home with their families considering that new variants of Omicron are on the rise in the Capital City.
"We continue to urge the public in the new year to stay at home celebrating New Year's Eve with our beloved family, it is safer for us to stay at home," said Syafrin.
Previously, the Polda Metro Jaya imposed 73 Crowd Free Night points in Jakarta on New Year's Eve and the public was prohibited from celebrating the New Year in crowds.
"There are 73 points that will be implemented in Jakarta, namely Sudirman-Thamrin, around Monas and several areas," said Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police Kombes Endra Zulpan at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, Tuesday.
