SAMARINDA - The Governor of East Kalimantan (Kaltim) Isran Noor officially opened the Smart City Socialization in the Context of Compiling a Smart City Master Plan in the New State Capital Region (IKN).

“To the President, I propose that the buildings are far apart from the trees and the forest. That's what we will prove. Everyone must be smart and have an environmental perspective," said Isran Noor, at the Odah Etam Hall, the East Kalimantan Governor's office, Samarinda, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, December 28.

Governor Isran Noor said the concept of preparing IKN intelligently and environmentally friendly is often conveyed to state guests, regional guests including national and foreign journalists who specifically come to East Kalimantan.

"That's what I tell journalists from all over the world," Isran said.

The Governor of East Kalimantan strongly supports the socialization of the preparation of the smart city master plan for IKN, which is a collaboration between the Ministry of Communication and Information and the East Kalimantan Provincial Government

"Say this well. Because there are still people who may not know about the concept of a smart city, forest city, sustainable city and environment city," said the Governor.

Previously, the Head of the Smart City Advisory Team for the New Capital City, Dr. Lukito Edi Nugroho, explained that the discussion of smart cities does not only cover the national capital, but also intersects with the region.

"Regions must also be prepared for various changes in issues that occur as a result of smart city development in IKN," said Lukito.

Changes in issues and progress will be very complex. The area will not be able to move on its own. So this requires a common umbrella, so that all regions can grow and develop well, simultaneously, as will happen in the IKN smart city area.

Director of Information Application Services for the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information, Bambang Dwi Angono, explained more broadly, smart cities cannot be separated from smart provinces.

According to him, this is a joint work. Can't talk city by city, but as one region within one province. East Kalimantan is very strategic as an IKN, to be modern, he said.

"Everything must be related. Starting from smart city, smart province, until finally towards smart nation," said Bambang Dwi.
