JAKARTA - The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection is encouraging rehabilitation efforts in handling the case of six junior high school (SMP) students in Buleleng, Bali who made pornographic content.
"I hope this case is handled legally and also given rehabilitation assistance. Don't let these children get caught up in wrong behavior and endanger their future. Physical, spiritual, mental, moral and social rehabilitation is needed for the recovery of these children," said the Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Bintang Puspayoga through a press release, quoted from Antara, Saturday, December 25.
The settlement of this case is expected to be completed in accordance with Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Criminal Justice System.
In addition to the legal process, Minister Bintang requested that the alleged perpetrators be given rehabilitation as an effort to recover from their wrong behavior in accordance with the Juvenile Criminal Justice System.
He also urged the public to stop and not to spread the video through any media.
"Distribution of the video is dangerous especially if it falls into the hands of children. Long-term risks lurk people who are addicted to pornography because it can damage the nervous system of the brain, also stimulates the body, physically and emotionally followed by sexual behavior. Children are at risk of becoming pornography perpetrators and trapped in the world of prostitution, whether as perpetrators, victims or witnesses," said Minister Bintang.
Currently, the Ministry of PPPA has dispatched a team of Friends of Women and Children (SAPA) 129 to Buleleng, Bali to identify the case and ensure that all parties play their role in providing comprehensive treatment and assistance to children.
Based on the results of the investigation by the PPA Unit Satreskrim Polres Buleleng, it is known that the perpetrators often watch pornographic videos on their cellphones. This case involved seven children in conflict with the law, namely six boys and one girl.
Bintang explained in Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Criminal Justice System, in the process of resolving cases, children in conflict with the law (ABH) need to be sought for diversion. This is not intended to justify the perpetrator's actions, but to improve his behavior.
The Diversion process requires the involvement of 3 (three) parties, including investigators, social workers and the Penitentiary Community Counselor (PK BAPAS).
Minister Bintang added that in addition to mentoring, the local government also needs to ensure that ABHs receive proper care.
In this case, there are indications that there is still a need to increase the knowledge and abilities of parents in nurturing, guiding, guiding, raising and protecting their children.
"There are two alternatives that can be done as a recovery effort, first, the local government ensures there is assistance and capacity building for ABH parents or provides alternative care individually (foster parents), or is temporarily placed in a rehabilitation institution as part of the recovery process," he said. Minister.
