Good News For Tens Of Thousands Of Members Of The COVID-19 Volunteer Task Force, Get Donations From Social Security

JAKARTA - A total of 13,073 members of the Coordination Sector of the Volunteer Task Force for Handling COVID-19 received Jamsostek donations worth Rp. 514,749,900 (Rp 514.75 million) in 2021.

The symbolic handover of the donation was part of the Synergy activity to Build Nation's Resilience in Combating COVID-19 which was held at Graha National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Jakarta, Friday, December 24.

"Insurance support for volunteers gives them extraordinary enthusiasm, it becomes an encouragement for volunteers to continue their efforts at COVID-19 health facilities and disaster locations," said BNPB Main Secretary Lilik Kurniawan when met in Jakarta, quoted by Antara.

Deputy Director of BPJAMSOSTEK Eko Nugriyanto expressed his appreciation to Bank Danamon for continuing to provide Jamsostek protection for volunteers since the COVID-19 pandemic occurred in Indonesia.

"Since 2020 until now, 23,000 volunteers have been protected with a nominal contribution of IDR1.1 billion, all of which are donations from Bank Danamon," said Eko.

This protection provides certainty for volunteers if they experience social risks that occur when carrying out volunteer activities.

Meanwhile, the amount of compensation that has been paid by BPJAMSOSTEK throughout 2021 is IDR 514,000,000. Donations were given to three volunteers who had work accidents while carrying out their duties.

“Through this activity, I hope to build awareness of the importance of employment social security for volunteers considering their very large task and role in assisting the handling of disasters that occur in the territory of Indonesia. Furthermore, the provision of protection can be continued independently by the volunteers," continued Eko.

On the same occasion, the Head of the BKR Program and Activity Planning for the COVID-19 Task Force, Didit Ratam, explained that apart from the delivery of Social Security for Volunteers for Handling COVID-19, the series of Synergy events to Build Nation's Resilience in Combating COVID-19 also included two other activities.

Other activities include the delivery of eight ambulances to hospitals in the Greater Jakarta area, namely Amanda Cikarang Hospital, Dompet Dhuafa Integrated Health Hospital, Bogor Tiara Hospital, Simpangan Depok Hospital, UKI General Hospital Jakarta, dr. Iqbali Taufan Bekasi, Multazam Medika Hospital Bekasi and Harapan Sejati Hospital Bogor.

In addition, there was also the submission of 20,187 Trained Volunteer Data to Representatives of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD). The support for the volunteers was made possible by the pentahelix synergy between BNPB, Jamsostek and Bank Danamon.
