President Adds Position Of Deputy Minister Of Social Affairs, PPP: Strengthens Reshuffle Signal

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo has signed Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 110 of 2021 which confirms the existence of deputy ministers (wamen) at the Ministry of Social Affairs.

PPP DPP chairman Achmad Baidowi assessed that the addition of the deputy social minister (Wamensos) position was a strong signal that President Jokowi would reshuffle the cabinet. Because he said, until now there are a number of Wamen positions that have not been filled. However, Baidowi said, only President Jokowi knows the reason for adding the position of Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Social Affairs. the portion of the deputy minister that has not been filled," said Baidowi, Friday, December 24

The secretary of the PPP faction said that apart from Wamensos, there are other vacant positions in other ministries as Deputy Minister of Social Affairs.

"Yes, hopefully in the near future the five vacant positions will be filled," he continued.

Regarding the reshuffle, Awiek as he is called, admitted that he did not know when Jokowi would reshuffle his cabinet. Especially, to fill the position of Deputy Minister that has been determined through the Presidential Regulation.

"As a political party that obeys the principles of the constitution, we fully surrender to President Jokowi, who has prerogative rights," he said.

It is known, President Joko Widodo signed Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 110 of 2021 concerning the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos). The Presidential Decree, which was signed by Jokowi on December 14, 2021, emphasized the existence of a deputy minister (wamen) at the Ministry of Social Affairs.

According to Article 2 paragraph (1), Article 2 paragraph (1) states that in leading the Ministry of Social Affairs, ministers can be assisted by deputy ministers according to the presidential appointment.

Then, Article 2 paragraph (2) explains, deputy ministers are appointed and dismissed by the president; and paragraph (3) states that the deputy minister is under and responsible to the minister.
