Members Of The House Of Representatives Commission I Doubt The Palestinian Ambassador's Reasons For The OUR Declaration

JAKARTA - Member of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Abdul Kadir Karding, doubted the reasons for the Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia Zuhair Al-Shun who thought that the declaration of the Coalition for Action to Save Indonesia (US) was a commemoration of Indonesia's 75th Independence Day.

In addition, it is impossible for the embassy to not know if Din Syamsudin 's invitation was intended to criticize the Indonesian government.

"Yes, as big as the embassy does not understand, does not have intelligence, does not have protocols for attending certain events," Karding told reporters, Thursday, August 20.

In addition, Karding said, Zuhair Al-Shun should not have attended Din Syamsudin's invitation. Because, under the leadership of President Joko Widodo, Indonesia has always provided support to the Palestinian state.

"The Indonesian government under the leadership of Pak Jokowi always provides moral, logistical, and political support for Palestinian independence, that must be understood by the Ambassador," Karding said.

As a solution to this problem, Karding continued, the government should have summoned the Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia to provide clarification. Because, clarification in public is not the way to solve this problem.

In fact, Karding said, if the clarification found an element of deliberation, it would be advisable for the Palestinian government to withdraw its representative. Then replace with someone else who is more professional.

"It could be that if there is an element of intent, it could be that the Ambassador should be withdrawn to his country and replaced by ambassadors who are more careful and more professional in their attitude in this country of Indonesia," said Karding.

Previously, the Palestinian Embassy clarified the presence of Palestinian Ambassador Zuhair Al Shun at the declaration of the Coalition for Action to Save Indonesia (US).

Through his written statement, the Palestinian Embassy said that Zuhair's presence was limited to meeting the invitation for an event which he understood as the commemoration of Indonesia's 75th Independence Day.

"We want to emphasize that our participation is based on the understanding that the event is an event to commemorate the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia and nothing else," the Palestinian Embassy was quoted as saying in his written statement, Wednesday, August 19.

In his statement, it was explained that the presence of the Palestinian Ambassador lasted only five minutes when the song Indonesia Raya was played. The Palestinian embassy explained that he always appreciated the assistance provided by the Indonesian government.

"We in Palestine appreciate the support and assistance we receive from His Excellency Mr. President Joko Widodo, his honorable government, and from all friendly Indonesian people," he said.

Whereas WE held a declaration event at the Proclamation Monument, Jakarta, led by Din Syamsuddin along with a number of figures including former TNI Commander Gatot Nurmantyo. Din Syamsuddin emphasized that WE was formed to help deal with national problems.

"The Indonesian nation is experiencing a big problem, so let us rise to the rescue. I personally and an interfaith figure, we want to save our beloved country as a national responsibility, as a people's responsibility," Din Syamsuddin said in a declaration, Tuesday yesterday.
