JAKARTA - Head of the Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Suharyanto revealed that the Daan Mogot Flats in West Jakarta and the Wisma of the Education Quality Assurance Institution (LPMP) in South Jakarta will be opened as quarantine locations.

This quarantine is intended for Indonesian migrant workers (PMI), students, and international travelers, as well as state civil servants (ASN) returning from service from abroad.

"BNPB will prepare all the room needs (at Daan Mogot Flats and Wisma LPMP)," said Suharyanto in his statement, Thursday, December 23.

In Daan Mogot Flats, there are 2 towers, namely towers 6 and 7, which have been prepared by the government for quarantine places with a bed capacity that can be utilized by 1,040 people.

Meanwhile, at Wisma LPMP, 480 beds will be prepared for additional beds for quarantine.

"Hopefully, Monday, December 27 tomorrow it can be used," said Suharyanto.

Currently, international travelers who receive centralized quarantine facilities from the government are quarantined in a number of locations, namely the Wisma Atlet, the Pasar Rumput Flats, and the Nagrak Flats.

In accordance with the Circular of the Head of the COVID-19 Task Force Number 25 of 2021 concerning International Travel Health Protocols during the COVID-19 Pandemic, international travelers are required to undergo centralized quarantine for a minimum of 10 x 24 hours.

The quarantine serves as an early prevention step from the potential transmission of the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus.
