Bobby Nasution Wants Residents Affected By Medan-Binjai Railroad Elevator To Be Provided With Rusunami

MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution wants the construction of the Medan-Binjai elevated railway to pay attention to the affected residents. Bobby wants residents to be provided with owned-simple flats (rusunami).

"Even though they violated the housing regulations, I want them to still receive compensation and proper housing," said Bobby Nasution in Medan, Wednesday, December 22.

According to Bobby Nasution, rusunami are important to continue the lives of residents affected by the construction of the elevated railway line, apart from them being the people of Medan City who must receive protection.

The affected residents of Medan City have been living on the railroad crossings. The residents are said to have violated Law No.23/2007 on Railways.

"We request that the Railways Office and PT KAI provide rusunami for these affected communities," said Bobby Nasution.

Head of the Sumbagut Regional Railway Engineering Center, Dandun Prakosa, reported the progress of controlling the land used as the Medan-Binjai railway flyover.

His party said that the construction of this elevated railroad will result in people living on the railroad crossing in 10 urban villages.

"We have carried out socialization in six urban villages, only four more villages have not been socialized. We convey to the community that we will receive proper compensation," he said.
