BANDUNG - The Governor of West Java (Jabar) Ridwan Kamil welcomed the opening of the Cipali Toll Road access to the West Java International Airport (BIJB) in Kertajati, Majalengka Regency.

Toll access will make it easier for people to get to Kertajati Airport so they no longer need to go through arterial roads.

"Yes, access is from the Cipalnya Toll Road, it makes it easier," said Ridwan Kamil in a written statement quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 22.

The 3.7-kilometer-long toll road access to Kertajati Airport was inaugurated today by Deputy Minister of PUPR John Wempi Wetipo. The toll access entrance is located at KM 158 of the Cikopo-Palimanan Toll Road.

According to Kang Emil, access to Kertajati Airport will be much easier after the construction of the Cisumdawau toll road is completed. The plan is for the Cisumdawu toll road to start operating at the end of this year or at the latest in early 2022.

"Wait for Cisumdawu access to penetrate, so it's full. So from Bandung to Cipali, Cipali to Kertajati directly," he said.

Currently Kertajati Airport is already serving logistics flights. Ridwan Kamil said that the policy of passenger flights and logistics is the authority of the Ministry of Transportation.

"The aviation policy is not in the province, so I continue to lobby the Minister of Transportation," he said.

Ridwan Kamil hopes that in 2022, along with the operation of the Cisumdawu Toll Road plus toll access to Kertajati Airport, flights will increase and the economy will improve.

"What is the 2022 plan, hopefully the economy will rise and there will be more flights," said Ridwan Kamil.
