KUPANG - Businessman from North Central Timor Regency (TTU) Hironimus Taolin who was arrested by the AGO's Task Force 53 team along with the Head of the Investigation Section of the NTT High Prosecutor's Office, Kondrat Mantolas (KM) by the AGO's Task Force 53 team, was released. He was called not guilty.
"I was released by the AGO's Task Force 53 team because I was not proven guilty after being questioned for approximately three hours by them in Jakarta on Tuesday (21/12) yesterday," Hironimus said when met at Kupang's El Tari Airport, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 22.
He conveyed this when asked about the arrest by the AGO 53 Task Force team together with the Head of the Investigation Section of the NTT High Prosecutor's Office with the initials KM at his home on Monday, December 20 night at his residence on Jalan Tuak Daun Merah (TDM). When the two were arrested, they found 50 million rupiah in cash on the table.
"So I put the money on the table. There were also a lot of people in the room, then suddenly four people from Task Force 53 came and took us out of the house by pinning us on the neck," he said.
The two of them on Monday, December 20, were immediately taken to a hotel for temporary inspection before being flown to Jakarta.
Hironimus Taolin said the Rp50 million found by the Task Force 53 team was actually money that he wanted to lend to KM, who is a close friend and from a village.
"The 50 million rupiah has nothing to do with other things, such as bribery or anything against the law, but I only lent it to the KM prosecutor because I have often borrowed money from me," he added.
KM is said to have borrowed money from Hironimus three times, starting from Rp. 10 million, Rp. 25 million and finally Rp. 50 million.
According to KM's confession to Hironimus, the Rp50 million money will be used to celebrate Christmas and New Year.
Hironimus said he was grateful to have learned a valuable lesson from the arrest case against him.
"Yes, I was honest with them, I said I was a Catholic, Christmas will be coming soon and I will honestly tell you what really happened. This is really a valuable lesson and of course makes me more careful," he said.
