Delivery Courier Service Office In Pondok Kelapa Attacked By Unknown Group, Allegedly Commotion About Outsourcing Fraud

JAKARTA - A number of employees of the Antar expedition service office in the Pondok Kelapa area, East Jakarta were attacked by an unknown group of people. The attack was caught on CCTV surveillance cameras.

From the surveillance camera footage, it appears that a group of youths entered the Antar Aja courier office, and immediately assaulted a number of employees. The incident occurred while employees were packing a delivery item on Tuesday, December 21, at noon.

Suddenly these unknown youths burst in and immediately hit the employees in the room.

"When packing was suddenly attacked by 10 people. I didn't understand the problem. The perpetrator was from the next office. I was injured in the face. I don't know the root of the problem," said Yadi, a victim of abuse to reporters, Tuesday, December 21.

As a result of the attack, seven employees became victims of beatings and suffered facial injuries.

Head of Public Relations of the East Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Susida, confirmed the incident. According to him, the incident began when the victim demanded money from one of the outsourcers because he felt he had been cheated.

"The victim then urged and was heard by the security of the freight forwarding company because it was only two shophouses away from the scene," said Kompol Susida when confirmed, Tuesday, December 21.

Because they did not accept the reprimand from Antar Aja's security, the outsourcing company said that it was none of their business. After that, a verbal check ensued.

"After a verbal altercation occurred and the commotion hit each other. After 20 minutes, a group of people from the group came to attack PT Antar Aja. Then they beat each other and there was a commotion," he said.

After the commotion, the assailants fled. The police who arrived at the scene, arrested a number of youths suspected of being involved in this persecution.

East Jakarta Metro Police officers secured a number of youths and evidence using operational service vehicles (KDO). They were taken to the East Jakarta Police.

"The case is still under investigation. The motive is because one of the victims felt that they had been cheated by outsourcing. There were five victims and two witnesses. The victims were those who applied for jobs and Antar Aja's workers. There were bruises and no stab wounds," said Kompol Susida.

The case is still being handled by the East Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim).
