34th NU Congress In Lampung Blessings For Citizens

CENTRAL LAMPUNG - Ahead of the start of the 34th Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) congress in Lampung, Iskandar was busy cleaning up. In fact, he is not a participant in the congress that will elect the general chairman of PBNU.

One of the locations where the 34th Congress was held is the Darussa'adah Islamic Boarding School, Gunungsugih, Central Lampung. And Iskandar's residence is only a stone's throw from the Darussa'adah Islamic Boarding School.

Iskandar cleaned up because he caught a business opportunity. He rented out his large house to be used as a lodging place for those who wanted to join the congress.

This house with an area of more than 200 meters consists of 3 rooms with a living room, kitchen and equipment like your own home that can be used. But he was reluctant to explain how much the rent per house is.

"It has been rented from Jakarta. As for the price, you don't have to. What is certain is that the houses here are fully rented," he said during a conversation, Tuesday, December 21.

Iskandar did not just talk. Along the path to the Darussa'adah Islamic Boarding School, all the existing houses are fully rented. Even impromptu boarding houses also appeared and they were already full.

Monitored on the Traveloka application, there are still 1-star hotels or inns available. But it is located about 20 km from Darussa'adah Islamic Boarding School.

The problem of lodging in Lampung for participants and congress cheerleaders had indeed become a wild issue. Deputy Chairperson of PWNU Lampung Muhammad Irfandi protested the actions of individuals on behalf of the Ministry of Religion who bought up hotel rooms in Bandar Lampung City.

Almost all hotels in Bandar Lampung have been fully booked by the person acting on behalf of the Ministry of Religion. In fact, the reservations were made from five-star hotels to standard hotels.

The information collected, the participants of the congress were collected in one place. The committee placed them in Islamic boarding schools to student dormitories.

But for the congress cheering team, this is a problem. Many of them are confused about finding the location of the inn. Not only in Central Lampung but also up to Bandar Lampung.

They are looking for houses for rent in the vicinity of Raden Intan Lampung State Islamic University (UIN RIL), Lampung University (Unila) and Malahayati University, which is also the location of the congress.
